It takes a special person to become a firefighter. It takes dedication, skills, knowledge and experience. Georgian College's Pre-Service Firefighter program can give you the background and education you need to prepare for this dynamic career. Our one-year program has been developed in close co-operation with the provincial standards, and it has the support of the Office of the Fire Marshal and the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs. Together with the support of Fire Services in our catchment area, instructors provide both in-class and practical education in fire science and firefighting basics.
